Klingon Marines are the largest ground forces of the Klingon Empire. In any operation, the philosophy of the Klingon Marines is to take their objective as quickly as possible. To accomplish that, they rely heavily on two tactics. The primary tactic of beaming directly onto their objective. The secondary tactic is to employ a mass drop deployment. Although losses may be heavy because the enemy is jamming signals, in many instances, the Klingons feel that these losses are acceptable in carrying out their task. Once they have seized their objective, the Klingons beam or fly in portable shield generators in order to keep what they have won. Most Klingon soldiers are not versed in tactics, but rather, are trained to follow orders to the letter. This is not to say that the average Klingon soldier is incapable of independent action, but that their training does not encourage them to do so. Nicknamed the "Icicle Corps" by some, because these units are usually kept in cryogenic suspension until a time arises when they are needed. Of course this is the fictional side of the scenario.
KAG IMPERIAL MARINE SECURITY FORCE
The Imperial Marine Security Force is a department aboard KLINGON ASSAULT GROUP vessels and represents the Klingon Empire's military ground forces. The IMSF is composed of units known as "Force Teams and Lances" which are attached to KAG naval vessels. The Force teams and Lances are regarded as the first units to be beamed down to secure an area. They are multi-functional because of their adaptability to handle the situation as thrust upon them. The IMSF in Star Trek literature has been the counter force to the Navy and their combined efforts have made the Klingon Race the glorious empire of today!
IMSF DUTIES
The IMSFs primary duty is to be an augmentative force to the other departments aboard a KAG naval vessel. It is well known that Marines are jack-of-all-trades and can adapt to any given situation, which is why this is their primary duty. The Ship Commander normally hands out these assignments. Other duties that IMSF may have are as a primary Security team and as an Honor Guard. Some unique role-playing aspects for the IMSF to utilize is while going into an event and securing the area before a high-ranking officer or Ship Commander enters. This can throw a bit of spice to the event and allow the Marines to show their stuff. Each IMSF team can devise their own unique ability or technique to give them a special individuality.
During most active duty aboard a KAG vessel, the IMSF will attend events and conventions. This is where they can distinguish themselves as members of an elite combat force. They can parade in their uniforms, enter costume contests and assist their fellow shipmates to bring glory to their command. The greater the level of involvement and participation a Marine puts forth, the greater the glory they will bring to their unit, their ship command and the IMSF. Along with this will come increases in rank and honorific as well as special recognition within the IMSF in the form of unit citations and distinguished service awards. On the other side, depending on the scale of disorderly conduct and aggravation a Marine causes can also bring disgrace and dishonor which can reflect not only on their unit, their ship command, the IMSF but on KAG as well. So abide by the Code of Conduct described further on.
The underlining aspect is the Klingon fellowship that a Marine will experience, with not only their fellow IMSF members but also their Naval counterparts to bring about the camaraderie that Klingons have been so well noted for as a race. Being a member of the IMSF has a two-fold mission: 1) Being part of a unique military department and 2) being a member of the one of the largest Klingon clubs ever, the KLINGON ASSAULT GROUP!

IMSF Regulations 1-5 Staff Organization and and Operation
Since the Marines serve as a department aboard Naval vessels they will be allowed equal rights as those of Naval personnel including the right to hold command positions aboard vessels. In the event that a Marine takes command of a Naval vessel, they are still to use the Naval COC but can laterally transfer to a Naval equivalent rank if they choose. Note: This means a Marine Officer can command a Naval Vessel.
IMSF Uniform guidelines
Guidelines that the Marine uniform be gray battle dress with use of a black sash with a red trim. The concept of the black sash is taken form the IG which it represents that they serve in the Black Fleet already. These guidelines are not set rules but recommended for uniformity among all Marines. Those Marines Serving in the Klingon Honor Guard, will wear the Honor Guard insignia with standard Marine Uniform, and may opt to wear the Deep Red battle dress with use of a black sash with red trim, along with the Honor Guard Insignia.
IMSF Chain of Command Leadership Courtesy Admiral Trekkan
A Chain of Command is a structured order of individuals who are responsible for different levels of authority. With each stage of the Chain of Command (COC) comes a level of responsibility and accountability. Those individuals high in the chain of command have put in time, effort and personal sacrifice to achieve their positions and should be given a certain amount of respect.

Now to better understand this breakdown, the following descriptions go into greater detail of the duties and responsibilities of each position. The following is not set in stone but is the guidelines for these positions:
MARINE TROOPER
Is the KAG member who has chosen to be a member of the IMSF and make up the "Force and Lance Teams" aboard their assigned ship. They are accountable to their Force/Lance Leader.
1. SHIPBOARD SECURITY The Marines aboard any vessel of the Klingon Assault Group will perform any and all security needs aboard that vessel, as the Commanding Officer of that ship deems necessary. This could translate into a security post during monthly meetings, personal escort at events or functions like a Blood Feud, etc., etc. Shipboard security personnel serve in many different ways, each differing slightly from ship to ship. The Commanding Officer will usually dictate in what manner it is needed.
2. CONVENTION SECURITY This type of security function is by far and away the most important kind of all. At a convention where Klingons have been asked to provide Security, the High Command views this as a high profile function. How we perform our job in this manner is of a critical nature. All eyes are upon us, watching us, and evaluating just how good the Klingons are at doing this duty. This is due to that fact that in this duty, the professionalism of KAG is laid before the public countenance. The High Command takes this very seriously indeed. We, as members of the Imperial Marine Security Forces, KAG, want our public image as a whole to reflect only the most positive light. We want our Security Forces to be top notch so that we are asked to return to Security again and asked to be present at new Cons as well. It is in this manner that we outshine other clubs and also grab a foothold into new Conventions so that we may have an avenue to slowly take over that convention in a fandom sense. Any convention where KAG is providing Security, the Quadrant Fencer of that region is responsible for making sure that the Security operations are done in a timely, professional, and organized manner.
FORCE/LANCE LEADER
The Force/Lance leader is the Department Head of a ship that is in charge of the Security operations and the directing of the activities of the Imperial Marines aboard the ship that they are assigned to. Force Leaders are appointed by the Naval Ship Commanding Officer, but may be replaced by the Quadrant Fencer if sufficient reason exists, and with the approval of the Naval Quadrant Commander.
SHIP COMMANDER
Is the Naval or Marine officer in charge of the ship. This individual is accountable to the Quadrant Commander for Naval personnel and the Quadrant Fencer for Marine personnel. The ship commander utilizes the Force/Lance Team to the best of their ability and should treat them as equally as naval personnel.
QUADRANT FENCER
The Quadrant Fencer is the Marine Officer in charge of Security operations and the directing of Marine activities within their assigned quadrant. There will be one Quadrant Fencer for each quadrant in each respective fleet. Quadrant Fencers will be nominated by their Quadrant Commander and approved or disapproved by the Marine Commandant. Until the Marine Commandant position is filled, the Field-Marshall and Fleet Commander have the authority to make Quadrant Fencer appointments.
QUADRANT COMMANDER
Is the naval officer in charge of a specified area of the fleet. This individual is accountable to the Fleet Commander. The quadrant commander has no direct control over IMSF units except through the Quadrant fencer and Ship Commander but is in the Chain of Command and holds a position of authority.
FIELD-MARSHALL
The Field-Marshall directs and oversees all Security operations and monitors the activities of the Imperial Marines within their Fleet. The Field-Marshall coordinates and aids in the implementation of the directives of the KAG Commander-in-Chief, Marine Commandant, and Fleet Commander. This individual is accountable to the Fleet Commander and the Quadrant Commanders. They are also responsible for keeping track of security operations, ship commands and reporting specified information to the Fleet Commander.
FLEET COMMANDER
Is the naval officer in charge of all ships of a specific fleet. This individual is accountable to the Naval Commander. They are responsible for keeping track of the ship commands and reporting specified information to the Naval Commander.
MARINE COMMANDANT
Is the Marine officer in charge of Marines within the fleets. This individual is accountable to the Naval Commander. They are responsible for giving direction to ship commands and answering Marine personnel's questions or concerns received through the COC. Also responsible for marine operations associated with the Navies
LEADER OF KAG
Is the highest officer of the KLINGON ASSAULT GROUP. This person is the top of the COC and gives direction to all commands and answers questions or concerns received from all Chains of Command.
The COC is a tool to be used by all levels. Information should go up and down the Chain of Command to ensure all levels are aware and that everyone is informed. Jumping the COC is considered inappropriate but there are occasions where it is justifiable. Always attempt to use the COC especially when expressing a concern.
For a unit of Marines to be able to form a Lance (Which deals primarily in Convention Security and Personal Security Details) they must succeed in recruiting a total Marine complement of 10 or 30% of the ships crew complement. This is to represent that a Lance is much more than the normal Security complement of Marines aboard any particular ship. That the ship in question has a full "Assault" force that has been assigned to it, and that in itself marks it as special or unique. The Lance is literally an Assault detachment. Or in the event a Force Team is greater than 10 IMSF troopers on a ship are, it can be broken down into squads and a Squad Leader will be appointed to command each squad by the Force Leader. This just creates one extra level of the COC and the Squad Leader will be responsible for the same duties as the Force Leader but will report to the Force Leader.
IMPERIAL MARINE FORCE CREED
Most military units have a creed that they follow and the IMSF is no exception. The following are the words that inspire an IMSF trooper:
DUTY, HONOR, and LOYALTY
I. Loyalty and Honor
One of the most important aspects of being in the IMSF is a full understanding of and appreciation for integrity. No single factor of an officer’s character is more important. We expect a higher standard from IMSF personnel than society commonly expects of a Klingons. In the IMSF, we have a clear standard of conduct: We do not lie, cheat, steal or tolerate among us those who do.
The Honor Code states that
"An IMSF Officer will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do." IMSF Officer’s must possess the personal and professional standards of integrity, self-discipline, and character which is expected and required of all armed forces officers. The responsibility to maintain the Honor Code falls on each IMSF personnel. This area is non-negotiable.
Members of the IMSF are expected to be loyal to the IMSF, their ship and house. A member should base any decision on how it will affect the IMSF their ship and their House. A selfish warrior is a dead warrior. If you consider something to be a threat to the IMSF, then inform your commander. If you uncover a spy in our ranks then immediately report this to the Lance Commander or to the Quadrant Fencer. Uncovered spies within the IMSF will be expelled from the IMSF with a recommendation for expulsion from KAG to the High Council. This is a serious charge, be prepared to have proof.
A. Officer’s Code of Honor:
Every officer holds a special position of moral trust and responsibility. No officer will ever violate that trust or avoid their responsibility for any of their actions regardless of personal cost. An officer is primarily a leader. They must lead their warriors by example and personal actions. An officer must set the standard for personal bravery and leadership. All officers are responsible for the actions of all their brother officers. The dishonorable act of one officer diminishes the corps; the actions of the officer must always be above reproach.
B. Rules of Thumb for Living Honorably
C. Duty, Honor, Empire
Duty, Honor, Empire. Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying points: to build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there appears to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn.

IMSF Marine, you are a volunteer serving the Empire with honor and faithfulness.
A. Every IMSF Marine is your brother in arms, regardless of nationality, race, planet of origin, or religion. You show other Marines a close solidarity, which must unite the members of the same family.
B. Respectful of the traditions held by your seniors, discipline and camaraderie are your strength, courage and loyalty your virtues.
C. Proud to be an IMSF Marine, you show this in your dress; it is always perfect, you are always dignified but modest in the way that you behave and your quarters are always in order (well, almost always . . .).
D. As an elite soldier, you train with rigor, you look after your weapon as your most precious possession, and you always take care of your physical fitness.
E. The mission is sacred; you execute it to the very end, at all costs.
F. In combat, you fight without passion and without hatred, you respect the defeated enemy always, you never abandon your dead, your wounded or your weapons.
II. Respect and Honor
The salute is a military greeting and sign of mutual respect. The salute is both a military tradition and an everyday courtesy. Salutes are exchanged between officers and warrant officers, officers or warrant officers and cadets or enlisted members of the IMSF. A salute consists of making a fist with the right hand bringing it up to your left shoulder making solid contact. It is released when either the senior officer walks by or the salute is returned. If reporting hold the salute until it is returned. IMSF personnel are required to salute in the following instances:
1. When two IMSF personnel in uniform meet. (This shows camaraderie among the IMSF)
2. When IMSF in uniform and commissioned officers meet, including those of friendly foreign nations and all Imperial Armed Forces. If an IMSF in uniform meets and recognizes an officer not in uniform, the salute is optional.
A salute is initiated by the junior member, and should be accompanied by a verbal greeting such as " DevwI’ " (which means One Who Leads.) The junior should begin the salute in time for the senior to return it. To prescribe an exact distance for all circumstances is not practical; however, a general guideline is that the salute should be initiated about six paces from an officer when walking, in time to allow the senior to return the salute. Under all circumstances, even in combat, respect and honor are to be shown. Whether this is to be to your enemy or to your lance mate, courtesy, generosity and integrity should be evident in both conversation and behavior. This reflects well both on yourself and the IMSF. Respect and honor are also to be shown to your commanders, the Quadrant Fencer and upper command staff. Prompt saluting is expected when a member of higher standing than you arrives. The IMSF operates as a family, if a dispute arises between you and another IMSF member, work it out.
Reporting:
When a superior officer wants to see IMSF personnel, the IMSF is required to report to the officer. If the officer is in their office, the IMSF should knock on the door once, and enter only when told to do so by the officer. The IMSF should then walk until he/she is approximately three feet from the officer (or in front of the officer's desk), come to attention, salute and state,
"DevwI’, IMSF (rank) (last name) reports as ordered."
("Reports to ask a question" or "reports to make a statement" may also be used depending on the situation) The IMSF should hold the salute until the officer returns it and remain standing until instructed to be seated.
After the conversation comes to an end, the IMSF should say, "Will that be all, DevwI’?" After receiving an affirmative reply, the IMSF should salute again and say, "Request permission to be dismissed, DevwI'." After the officer returns your salute, execute the minimum amount of facing movements and leave the office.
III. Challenges
Personal challenges are encouraged in the IMSF. If a need for a challenge between you and another IMSF member occurs, then it will be formerly arranged and overseen by a commanding officer. The Lance and Force commanders who govern and who command the individuals will oversee trials of Possession. These challenges will at all times be within KAG guidelines.
IV. Discipline
Although creativity is sometimes called for in a battle, if an order is given it is to be followed. Your commanders have earned their rank and therefore have the experience needed to make the proper decisions. These decisions result in orders which should be carried out with utmost efficiency. An order is a firm request and will be carried out without complaint. If an order is disobeyed, it will be reviewed by the Quadrant Fencer, and others. If you don't believe that the order you are given is a valid order or you disagree with it, follow it anyway and take note of everything. Talk it over with your superior later after things have calmed down. If you still can't agree, then take it up the Chain of Command.
V. Training
As with any other professional group, the IMSF must be trained within guidelines, these guidelines alleviate most of the problems of possible misconduct, abuse of authority, and lack of knowledge of duties. DOWNLOAD GUIDELINES
By following and learning the guidelines, you become an indispensable part of the IMSF, being trained within the guidelines allows for you posting to vital security duties, and gives you the insight to properly handle problems that may occur. Without training, you may not perform IMSF duties, unless supervised by someone who is in a command position, or been properly trained within the guidelines. This removes the possibility of problems that could place yourself in jeopardy of any sort or cause an embarrassment to KAG, the IMSF or your ship. Training will be conducted by, your Force/Lance commander, the XO or the CO, however any questions may be directed to the Quadrant Fencer.
Above all being in the IMSF is a privilege, a privilege you have to earn. You are in the IMSF to perform a vital function for KAG, these functions are vital to the Public relations aspect of KAG, The credibility of the IMSF as a security option for conventions and the ability to spread KAG, throughout the sci-fi convention community. To do this it will require time and effort on your part. You are the one that will make or break the IMSF. Without you as its backbone, the IMSF will fail to be a viable resource to KAG, and therefore be discarded. MAKE IT HAPPEN, TAKE THE CHALLENGE, MAKE THE IMSF, THE SHINING STAR OF KAG. Under the naked stars let it be known that the IMSF are the best of the Marine’s
IMSF Rank Insignia and Honorifics
Guidelines state that the rank insignia should be Gold on red. This means the rank is Gold on a red background. The same for the unit insignia also.

IMSF Oath of Service
Also with most military units they have an Oath that they take. The following is that oath:

I hold
allegiance to my Emperor, Empire, devotion to duty,
and personal integrity
above all.
