To qualify as a member of the
Honor Guard you must meet the below criteria.
1. Have served at minimum
6 months in the Marines 2. Preformed at minimum 3
PSD's 3. Submit a request to the Honor Guard Commander
with the names and dates of

(PSD) Personal Security Detail,
this mean's performing escort duty for a High ranking
member of KAG, a VIP, a Guest. Personnel
may NOT escort other Marines, Marines are already trained
as to be able to protect themselves, therefore no Marine
is authorized a PSD. (exception
only by direct order of the Marine Commandant or Thought
Admiral may this directive be countermanded).
Honor Guard command structure
when preforming PSD's
Since
PSD's are normally only done at conventions or other
special events. The Ranking Marine Honor Guard personnel
will be in charge. If the Marine Fencer is present,
in that case the Marine Fencer will supervise unless
the Fencer is a member of the Honor Guard then he may
participate in the PSD. If
the Field Marshall is present, in that case the
Field Marshall will supervise unless the Field Marshall
is a member of the Honor Guard then he may participate
in the PSD. If the
Honor Guard Commander is present, then they may supervise
or participate in the PSD. Normally the Honor Guard
Commander will defer command of the detail to the local
level. If there are
multiple PSD's during the event then the Honor Guard
Commander will coordinate PSD functions.
Marine
Honor Guard are to be given priority to escort details.
(one of the perks of being in
the Honor Guard).
